Driver caught on phone in Flintshire had no licence, insurance or MOT
A van has been seized in Flintshire after its driver was spotted using a mobile phone at the wheel, with checks then finding he had no valid licence, insurance or MOT.
An officer from the South Flintshire policing team, stopped the vehicle after the driver was seen using his phone while driving.
Further checks found the driver did not hold a valid licence, insurance or MOT for the van.
The vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, the power that allows police to take a vehicle off the road when the driver has no licence or insurance.
The stop came after the officer had visited Flintshire Sorted’s Fun in the Fields event at Buckley Common, where she dropped in on youngsters attending the Flintshire youth project’s summer session.
Sharing details of the stop, the South Flintshire team said: “PC Nat, just as good at taking penalties on the pitch as she is at handing them out on the road.”
