Renewed police appeal after missing Cheshire man’s 4×4 found burnt out on Denbigh Moors

Police are renewing their appeal for information in relation to 51-year-old John Hawkins, who is missing from Lymm in Warrington. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

John was last seen driving his black Mitsubishi L200 Warrior 4×4 car in Bala, Gwynedd, North Wales, at around 1pm on Wednesday 12 December. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

His vehicle has since been found burnt out on the Denbigh Moors near to Bylchau in Conwy, North Wales. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

John is described as white, about 6’ 2” tall and of medium build. He has brown hair, brown eyes and is believed to be wearing blue and white Adidas trainers, dirty dark blue jeans and a dark coloured Superdry hoody with a blue logo on the front. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

He may also be wearing a black Trespass wax jacket with a thin silver trim on the chest and a black New York Yankees cap with a frayed peak. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Police are urging anyone who sees John or has any information regarding his whereabouts to get in touch. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

North Wales Police Inspector James Keene said: “Specialists have undertaken an extensive search of the area where John’s vehicle was found but currently he has not been located. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“We are concerned for his welfare and the search for John remains ongoing. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“We are appealing to John himself, and anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts, to contact us.” ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Anyone with information that may help officers find John are asked to call 101, asking for North Wales Police and quoting reference Itrace 23488. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
