Police officers are increasing patrols at Flint Retail Park as part of Operation Bastion to tackle retail crime and anti-social behaviour.

Acting Inspector Matthews and PCSO Lucy carried out a foot patrol engaging with local shops to support this initiative.

In recent weeks, neighbourhood and patrol teams have charged five repeat offenders with 32 shoplifting offences. Some of those charged have received custodial sentences.

Young people involved in anti-social behaviour around the retail park have been referred to the youth offending team, which is working with them to reduce future offending.

Acting Inspector Matthews said: “Lucy continues to do a fantastic job – her positive attitude, professionalism and strong relationships with store staff are making a real difference. By maintaining strong links with local businesses, working with them, and providing a visible presence, we can tackle offenders and drive down retail crime”.
