Police say there has been a number of drink and drug drive arrests over the weekend

 

North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit say they made a number of a drink and drug driving arrests over the weekend.

 A 55-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday evening following a ‘damage-only’ collision on the A483 in Rossett, Wrexham. She has since been charged with drink driving and bailed to appear before Wrexham Magistrates on February 10^th.

Four people were also arrested between Friday and Saturday after failing the roadside drugs swipe test. The arrests were made in the Rhostyllen, Bangor, Mold and Caernarfon areas. All four have been released on police bail pending further test results.

A 29-year-old man has also been charged with drink driving after being stopped by officers in the Rhyl area on Saturday. He will appear before Prestatyn Magistrates on February 8^th.

And a 25-year-old woman has been charged with drink driving after being stopped by officers in the Caernarfon area on Saturday. She will appear before Caernarfon Magistrates on February 8^th.

On Friday evening a 23-year-old man was arrested by officers in the Llandudno Junction area and has since been charged with driving whilst disqualified, no insurance and using a mobile phone whilst driving. He has been bailed to appear before Llandudno Magistrates on February 9^th.

Inspector Martin Best from North Wales Police’ Roads Policing Unit said: “It is disappointing that a small minority of people are still intent on ignoring our messages. North Wales Police are fully committed to help make the roads safer for all and will continue to target those who endanger their own lives and the lives of others.”
