Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Flintshire

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision in Treuddyn near Mold yesterday evening, Wednesday, June 14.
Police were called shortly after 6pm to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A5104 Corwen Road with the junction of Ffordd y Blaenau and Pant y Ffordd.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the Welsh Ambulance Service, and a Wales Air Ambulance, were all called to the scene.
The collision involved a silver Skoda Fabia and an Iveco green horsebox.
The driver of the Skoda was airlifted to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries.
The road was closed until around 11pm, causing disruption to local travel.
PC Tom Hough of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses.
He said: “I’m appealing for witnesses and I’m keen to speak to anybody who may have been travelling in the area and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.11pm last night, Wednesday 14 June, to reports of a road traffic collision in the Treuddyn area of Flintshire.”
“We sent two rapid response cars and an emergency ambulance to the scene, where crews were also supported by an air ambulance.”
“One person was flown to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
