Plans submitted for 14 new EV bays at former Buckley police station site

Plans have been submitted to redevelop the existing car park at the former police station site on Mold Road, Buckley, into a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging park featuring 14 new parking bays.
The site, located on the north side of Mold Road in the town centre, currently serves as a tarmacked parking area with adjacent soft landscaping.
The proposals include retaining the existing tarmac surface with new line markings to define the bays, while upgrading the adjacent landscaped area with permeable asphalt surfacing. EV chargers will be mounted on existing walls.
Access to the site will continue via the entrance from Argoed Road, with no changes proposed.
The adjacent former police station building itself is not included in the current application and has been granted separate permission for redevelopment.
The project, submitted under planning application reference FUL/000597/25 by Tier Consult Ltd, is currently in its consultation period, which runs until August 6, 2025.
Flintshire planners aim to reach a decision on the application by early September.
The development forms part of Buckley’s ongoing efforts to expand electric vehicle infrastructure in the area, supporting greener transport and reducing emissions.
The new EV bays will provide essential charging facilities in the town centre, encouraging wider EV adoption.
Local residents and stakeholders are invited to comment on the application during the consultation period.
