Pilates studio approved at Broughton Shopping Park management offices

Flintshire County Council has granted planning permission for a Pilates studio to open within the existing management facility at Broughton Shopping Park.
The application, submitted by Broughton Unit Trust (Revenue), sought approval to subdivide part of the first floor of the centre’s management office and change its use to a D2 leisure facility.
The approved space covers approximately 73 square metres.
The proposal involved minor internal alterations to create the studio, with no extension to the building.
An external modification was also permitted, allowing the relocation of a fire door from the eastern to the southern elevation.
The applicant’s agent, CarneySweeney, said the new use would support and complement the shopping centre’s entertainment and leisure offerings, contributing to the vitality and vibrancy of the area.
The studio aims to provide health and fitness opportunities for a broad demographic within the local community.
The site is located within an established retail and leisure area with good access to public transport and nearby residential neighbourhoods.
Planning conditions include a requirement that the development must commence within five years and that all works be carried out in accordance with the approved plans and documents submitted with the application.
The decision follows a positive evaluation confirming no significant impacts on protected species, habitats, or flood risk.
