North Wales Police officer remanded in custody charged with possessing indecent images of children

A serving North Wales Police officer has been remanded in custody charged with possessing indecent images of children, he is also accused of grooming a 12 year old girl for sexual purposes.

PC James Calveley Evans, 33, of Y Dreflan,  Maes Pennant, in Mostyn, has been remanded in custody, he has also been suspended from his role with North Wales Police.

Flintshire Magistrates’ Court sent the case to Crown Court, an application for bail was refused.

Mr Evans is charged with possessing 11 indecent images of children on 31 March, he will appear at Mold Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on 10 April.

He is is also accused of arranging or facilitating a sexual offence on a girl of 12 by email between 6 and 7 February.

He was refused bail due the serious nature of the alleged offences which came to light after police had examined his mobile phone.
