The event, on 4th October, is the idea of Mold- based officer Sgt Andy Massey. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Sgt.Massey has brought together a team of almost 50 runners and has received support from local organisations through Business Supporting Communities and Flintshire Local Voluntary Council who have encouraged runners to join in the fund-raising challenge. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Running from the peak of Moel Fammau to the police station is a distance of approximately seven miles and Andy is hoping that sponsorship will raise £7,000 for the campaign. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

As well as runners from FLVC, B2C, support from local business includes Hill Roberts Accountants and Scottish Power who have pledged to provide marshals for the event. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Sgt. Massey said; ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“This is a great opportunity for me and my police colleagues to support such a vital local service. Without the efforts of the League of Friends, the Hospital has been in danger of closing, and I am grateful for the partnership support given by B2C and FLVC to help support this service for Mold and the surrounding area.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

B2C, Alison Roberts, Wrexham & Flintshire Project Officer, said; ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“This is a great opportunity to support a local voluntary group to raise vital funds for Mold Hospital.  The hope is that, as well as each donation received, the event will bring together the local community and businesses to forge stronger links across the Mold area.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Beryl Powell, Chair, Mold Community Hospital League of Friends said; ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“As Chair of the Mold Hospital League of Friends I am delighted and grateful to Andy for this original way of fund raising. Thanks also to all those who support him.  His target of £7000, which I am sure he will achieve, will be a tremendous boost to our funds.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
