A man has died following a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) in Flint Mountain on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 1pm on Northop Road and involved a pedestrian. Emergency services, including the Wales Air Ambulance, attended the scene, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead.

Detective Constable Melanie Hughes of North Wales Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.

She added an appeal for witnesses:

“We are urging anybody who may have been travelling along Northop Road around the time of the collision, or just prior, and who may have witnessed anything, or anybody who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage to make contact with us.”

The road was closed for several hours to allow for investigative work but reopened at around 6.30pm.

North Wales Police have asked anyone with information to assist the ongoing investigation by contacting the Serious Collision Investigation Unit via their website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 24000977120.
