The inquest into the death of former Welsh Assembly member Carl Sargeant will reopen on Monday 8 July 2019.

The inquest is listed for five days and will be heard by Senior Coroner for North Wales, John Gittins, at: County Hall, Wynnstay Road, Ruthin LL15 1YN. The inquest was adjourned on 30 November last year.

Neil Hudgell of Hudgell Solicitors represents the Sargeant family. He says:

“We’re grateful to the coroner for his careful consideration of all matters to date. Even though the inquest is some time away, it is very important for the Sargeant family to have a date set.

They continue to hope that the inquest will allow them some much-needed answers about the circumstances surrounding Carl’s untimely and tragic death.”

The firm has instructed leading inquest counsel Leslie Thomas QC of Garden Court Chambers.
