Illegal tobacco seizure in Shotton

A joint operation between Flintshire Trading Standards, North Wales Police and specialist sniffer dogs from Flintshire based Wagtail UK has resulted in a seizure of illicit tobacco from a shop in Shotton.

Approximately 2,400 cigarettes were seized in tonight’s operation, there are no more details as yet.
It’s almost 12 months to the day since Police seized 25,000 cigarettes plus hand rolling tobacco from a store in Shotton, specialist tobacco sniffer dogs located the tobacco hidden in a computer tower and behind false panelling under a shop counter.

Anyone wanting to report sales of illicit tobacco can do so to Trading Standards on 08454 040506. Illicit tobacco products are cigarettes or hand rolling tobacco that have been smuggled, bootlegged or are counterfeit and are not subject to any controls over their composition
