Housing developer launches public consultation on plans to build 70 new homes in Ewloe
A housing developer has launched a public consultation on plans to build 70 new homes in Deeside.
The proposed development at land off Green Lane, Ewloe, spans 6.0 acres, with 4.38 acres allocated for new homes and the rest for public spaces and existing landscaping.
Denbighshire-based Castle Green Homes says it intends to submit a planning application for the development of 70 homes, “of which 28 properties (40%) are to be delivered as affordable dwellings.”
The remaining 42 homes (60%) are to be offered for open-market sale, the developer has stated.
The homes proposed will range in size from two to four bedrooms, and all will be two storeys high.
Castle Green states, “The delivery of 28 affordable homes constitutes 40% of the total number of dwellings, aligning with Policy HN3 of the LDP. This plays a vital role in addressing affordable housing needs in the Mold and Buckley housing market, especially given the identified annual shortfall of 22 affordable homes.”
The site has been earmarked for residential development under Flintshire County Council’s current Local Development Plan (LDP). It’s part of a broader allocation planning for 298 dwellings, encompassing this land and extending northwards.
According to its website, Castle Green said it would offer “a series of financial contributions to fund local public facilities and infrastructure, where needed. Flintshire County Council will secure these through a legal agreement.”
“These financial contributions will be identified by the Council during the subsequent planning application process.”
“The dwellings, roads, and associated landscaping proposed will be designed and constructed to a high standard, reflecting the context of the local area and the intentions of the Flintshire County Council Local Development Plan. The completed development will provide a thoughtfully designed and appealing place to live for future local residents.”
Castle Green states, “The development will contribute to the delivery of market and affordable housing in Flintshire. This supports the Local Plan housing requirement of 7,870 homes from 2015 to 2030, enhancing Flintshire’s economic ambition.”
