Theatr Clwyd and Paperfinch Theatre present a unique show for the festive season; a new adventure based on the Brothers Grimm tale.

Hansel & Gretel: Fairytale Detectives will be performed in promenade through 26 different spaces within the theatre.

Studios, workshops, dressing rooms and cupboards will be transformed into magical worlds for audiences to explore.

Joining the professional cast will be a company of 21 community actors from the area.

There’s evil afoot in Grimm City.

Humpty’s cracking, Rapunzel’s in a tangle and Weasel went pop without a trace. Fairytales are going missing and there are whispers of a witch on the loose.

With cunning disguises, magnifying glasses and a briefcase full of breadcrumbs, a team of folklore friends come together to solve these nursery rhyme crimes.

Take a journey across the landscape of a 1949 metropolis, encountering puzzles and games along the way.

Hansel & Gretel enlist the audience to dust for prints, don disguises, crack codes and chase down suspects through the dark city streets in this exciting, immersive Christmas adventure for under 11s and their families.

Hansel & Gretel: Fairytale Detectives December 14 – January 6.
