Groundwork North Wales and Toyota Manufacturing team up to offer new Flintshire employability project
Toyota Manufacturing UK’s Charitable Trust has teamed up with Flintshire County Council and Groundwork North Wales to offer a new employability project called Toyota Thrive.
Toyota Thrive is offering paid work placements for 16-24 year old’s for up to 26 weeks.
Comprising of 8 weeks in house training with Groundwork North Wales, participants can gain STEM associated accreditation in various fields such as catering, customer services, retail, health and social care, woodwork, conservation/ outdoor activities, IT and communication skills.
After an initial 8 week internal training period, participants will move into work placements with external employers suited to their individual skills.
Lorna Crawshaw, Head of Programmes and Partnerships at Groundwork North Wales, had this to say about the scheme;
“The team and I here at Groundwork North Wales are looking forward to the project.
Being able to work closely with the participants on the programme really allows the Achievement Coaches to understand the individuals, allowing a more focused approach to participant experience and outcomes”.
Jim Crosbie, Trustee for the Charitable Trust, and Deputy Managing Director at Toyota Manufacturing UK said, “We are delighted to be working with Groundwork North Wales and Flintshire county council in supporting young people to gain real, relevant work experience and develop their skills across a broad range of activities.”
