Free community CPR training in Hawarden this Saturday

Local residents are being offered the chance to learn lifesaving CPR techniques this Saturday, November 23, at St Deiniol’s Tithe Barn.
The free training event, hosted by Calon Hearts in partnership with the Hawarden Dee Valley Rotary Club, is open to all members of the community.
The event aims to empower local residents with essential emergency response skills, particularly the use of defibrillators.
There are a number of these devices available in Hawarden, they can dramatically improve survival rates during cardiac emergencies.
This initiative follows previous successful training sessions conducted by Calon Hearts, including a well-received programme in Hawarden Village.
The Importance of Defibrillators and CPR
Quick access to a defibrillator can mean the difference between life and death.
According to experts, every minute without defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by 10%.
Hawarden is fortunate to have several defibrillators in the area, but as Pauline Reilly, President-Elect of Hawarden Dee Valley Rotary Club, said, community training is vital:
“We’d like to get as many of our local community trained in what to do in an emergency.”
Calon Hearts has been at the forefront of cardiac health awareness and prevention.
The organisation continues to advocate for greater access to defibrillators, aiming to place one within 100 metres of every public space.
