Coleg Cambria, Northop floristry students recently went to the Welsh Government offices in Llandudno Junction to sell flowers for mother’s day as part of their enterprise day.

This event gave them the opportunity to experience a real life situation outside the classroom setting, where they had to use various skills including hand tied skills, customer service skills and peak period skills whilst creating beautiful bouquets.

Amanda Ellis, Floristry Lecturer said:

“The students planned and prepared the event and they made around 50 different designs, they were extremely busy serving and making bouquet’s up to order and did an amazing job,

“I was so proud of how hard they worked, all designs sold out with an impressive £550.00 raised for the college’s chosen charity Wales Air Ambulance.”

Student Holly Mason, 19, from Saughall, Chester who was involved with the enterprise said:

“It was so busy at the Welsh Government offices; I couldn’t believe it. It was a great opportunity to put our floristry skills to the test whilst under pressure within a busy environment.”
