Flintshire police charge drivers from unauthorised car meet, vow robust action against reckless driving
North Flintshire Police have stated that officers will “continue to take robust action” after several drivers who attended an unauthorised car meet in Flint faced charges.
The event, held at Flint Retail Park in June, saw drivers “endangering members of the public.”
Police mentioned that participants filmed their “careless” driving.
Officers have now used video evidence to identify and charge several individuals.
In a statement, North Flintshire Police said: “On the 4th of June 2023, there was an unauthorised car meet at Flint Retail Park.”
“Drivers filmed themselves driving recklessly, endangering the public.”
“After reviewing the video evidence, several NIPs (Notices of Intent to Prosecute) were issued.”
“Some responded, were interviewed, and subsequently charged. Others who didn’t provide driver details also faced charges.”
“We won’t tolerate unauthorised car meets or anti-social driving that jeopardises other road users.”
“We remain committed to taking decisive action, including, where necessary, issuing Section 59 notices for anti-social driving or pressing criminal charges.”
“Though it’s been some time, we ensure every detail is addressed before releasing such news.”
