Flintshire County Council thanks residents for supporting waste and recycling crews during heatwave

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Flintshire County Council has praised its waste and recycling crews for completing collections during a recent spell of extreme heat, with residents across the county offering cold drinks, ice creams and words of support to staff working in heavy uniforms.

Flintshire County Council’s Streetscene teams started early over the last few days to minimise disruption to services during the hot weather.

Chris Goddard, Streetscene Service Manager, said:

“I want to pay tribute to our teams who, over the last few days, have shown real commitment in extremely challenging conditions.

“I also want to thank our residents.

“The community’s kindness has made a real difference to staff working on the frontline.

“This is Flintshire at its best.

“I would ask everyone to continue looking out for one another, especially older or more vulnerable neighbours.

“For our part, we will continue ensure our teams are fully supported and able to work safely during times of extreme weather.”
