A Flintshire manufacturer has signed the Armed Forces Covenant at a ceremony at Caernarfon Castle, committing to support current and former members of the armed forces in its workforce.

KnitMesh Technologies, based on Coast Road in Greenfield, Holywell, signed the covenant last week.

The signing was attended by the company’s managing director, Peter Evans, and Brigadier Mark Davis CBE, Head of the Army in Wales, representing the UK Ministry of Defence.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a national commitment to ensure those who serve or have served in the armed forces, along with their families, are treated fairly in their communities, the economy and wider society.

KnitMesh Technologies has been based in North Wales since 1957 and manufactures knitted wire mesh products across a range of industries, including sectors linked to defence and security.

Peter Evans said: “Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is something we are really proud of. We have a great deal of respect for the men and women who serve our country, and this felt like the right step for us to take. Given the work we do across defence-related sectors, it is especially important that we show that commitment in a meaningful way. We also know first-hand the value that service personnel bring, whether that is their skills, discipline, or experience, and we are keen to support them as they move into civilian careers.”

The pledge means military experience will be recognised in recruitment and career development at the company.

KnitMesh Technologies says it will also support the transition from service into civilian employment.

Further information about career opportunities at the company is available at www.knitmeshtechnologies.com.
