Flint Coastguard Rescue Team called out after a windsurf kite was found in the Dee Estuary

Flint Coastguard Rescue Team were called out by Liverpool Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) this afternoon to meet the boat ‘Kinmel Bay’ at Mostyn Docks, the boats crew had retrieved a windsurf kite off the number 10 buoy in the Dee Estuary..

Once on scene details of the kite were passed to Liverpool MRCC, West Kirby Lifeboat were also called out to make a search of the area.

The owner of the kite then turned up at Mostyn Docks to collect the kite collect after he got into difficulty off Talacre.

Flint Coastguard said on their Facebook page:

‘As all was well, team stood down and returned to station. Many thanks to the crew of The Kinmel Bay for their assistance.’
