Flint Coastguard officers scramble to reports of ‘medical emergency’ at Talacre beach
Flint’s volunteer Coastguard rescue team responded to an incident at Talacre Beach on Wednesday afternoon.
Teams from Flint and Rhyl were scrambled just before 4pm in response to reports of a ‘medical emergency’ on the Flintshire beach.
An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene and an individual was airlifted to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital for medical treatment.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson commented, “We were called on 25th October, at approximately 3:59pm, following reports of a medical emergency at Talacre Beach.”
“We dispatched an air ambulance, a Cymru high acuity response unit, a duty operational manager, and an emergency ambulance.”
“At the scene, we were assisted by colleagues from the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service.”
“The patient was conveyed by air to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for further care.”
A Rhyl Coastguard spokesperson added, “Our team was at Talacre Beach on Wednesday afternoon to support the Wales Air Ambulance and the Welsh Ambulance Service during the medical incident.”
“The Flint Coastguard Rescue Team was also present.”
