Emergency services are responding to a large fire in Greenfield, Holywell, that has forced the closure of the A548 Mostyn Road.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews are currently tackling the blaze.

A spokesperson said: “Firefighters are tackling a large building fire in Greenfield. Please avoid the coast road area whilst emergency services deal with the incident.”

North Wales Police also issued a statement, advising the public to stay clear of the affected area.

“The road is currently closed on the A548 Mostyn Road, Greenfield, Holywell, due to a fire at a derelict building. Please avoid the area, thank you,” a police spokesperson said.

Social media reports suggest the building involved is the former Morfa Newydd residential home.

However, this has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
