A woman who tragically died in a road traffic collision in Flint on Monday, June 5th, has been named as Angela Williams.

The 62-year-old Flint resident was remembered fondly by her family in a tribute they issued.

“Angela lived in the Flintshire area for most of her life and spent the last few years living in Flint.

“She was kind and empathetic to people from all walks of life. She was a great mum and grandmother to her two sons and her grandson.

“We all loved her very much. We will miss her enormously and have learned so much from her. She will stay in our hearts forever.

“She was an incredible person who overcame many obstacles in her life, whilst being a support to others. She was such a positive presence in our family.

“Angela was popular in her local community and spoke highly of her friends. We would like to thank them all for making her feel welcome in Flint.

“The world just won’t be as fun without her. “We are heartbroken and would like to be given privacy and time to grieve.”

North Wales Police were contacted shortly before 12:30pm on Monday, June 5th, reporting an incident involving a pedestrian and a HGV on Church Street, Flint.

The emergency services attended, however, sadly, Angela was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 37-year-old driver of the HGV was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released under investigation.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit extended his sympathies to Angela’s family and appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact officers.

He said: “Our heartfelt sympathies remain with Angela’s family at this incredibly difficult time, who are being supported by specialist officers.”

Anyone with information that could assist with the ongoing investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 23000482755.
