Electricity supplies restored following power cut in Deeside

Update: Power supplies were restored at 9.36am.

Earlier report: A power cut has hit a number of areas in Deeside this morning.

Electricity went off at around just before 7.45am in parts of Ewloe, Hawarden, Shotton, Aston and Queensferry.

SP Energy Networks has said it expects power to be restored by 9.45am.

SP Energy Networks website states: ‘There is a power cut affecting the CH5 postcode areas of Hawarden, Shotton, Aston and Queensferry’

‘We had no advance warning of this and first became aware of it at 7:43 am.’

‘Our control centre will attempt to restore your electricity supply remotely, and we will also send our next available engineers to the area, to find and fix the fault, as quickly and as safely as possible.’

‘We expect the power to be restored by 9:45 am.’

‘The latest updates can be found on our website www.spenergynetworks.co.uk. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.’
