Duke of Edinburgh group praised after Moel Famau medical emergency

North East Wales Search and Rescue was called to Moel Famau on Thursday afternoon to help a teenager who had suffered a medical episode.
The team said it was requested by Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.
Several team members were deployed to the scene, while the rest of the team was placed on standby in case a stretcher evacuation was needed.
Following an assessment on scene, the team determined the casualty could be safely transported in one of its vehicles to an ambulance for onward travel to hospital.
Team members still travelling to the scene were then stood down.
North East Wales Search and Rescue said a Duke of Edinburgh group on scene remained calm, provided care and reassurance, and gave the team an accurate update on the casualty’s condition.
The team said this assisted its response.
North East Wales Search and Rescue has wished the casualty a speedy recovery.
The team’s volunteers respond to incidents across Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham and parts of Conwy and Powys, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
