Detectives in Chester are appealing for information following a carjacking in the Newton area of the city.

The incident happened at around 1.25pm on Saturday 29 July.

A 25-year-old man was driving a red VW Polo along Newton Lane, near to Lime Wood Close, when his vehicle was hit from behind by a black Vauxhall Corsa.

Two men then got out of the Corsa and approached the victim as he exited his car to speak to the other driver.

A white powder was then thrown towards the victim, while the two men got into the VW Polo and drove off in the direction of Hoole town centre. The Corsa was left at the scene.

“The car is a red VW Polo, registration starting ‘WJX’, there is likely to be some damage to the rear of the car from when it was hit by the Corsa.

“I’d ask anyone with any information to Contact us on 101, or at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML 1608053.”
