Dense fog forecast for Flintshire on Wednesday morning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog, with dense patches expected to affect Flintshire overnight and into Wednesday morning.
Visibility is predicted to drop below 100 metres in some areas, potentially leading to travel disruption across the region.
The warning is in place from midnight until 11 am on Wednesday. Commuters in Flintshire have been advised to prepare for slower journey times and potential delays on local roads, buses, and trains.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Fog patches will bring visibility down to under 100 metres at times. This could lead to some travel disruption during the morning hours before gradually clearing later in the day.”
Motorists in Flintshire are being urged to plan ahead, with the Met Office warning of hazardous driving conditions due to poor visibility.
Drivers are advised to ensure their fog lights are operational and allow extra time for journeys, particularly on key routes such as the A55.
Travellers heading to nearby Liverpool John Lennon Airport or Manchester Airport should be aware of potential delays or cancellations.
Fog often limits visibility for pilots during take-off and landing, leading to changes in flight schedules.
Driving safely in fog
Foggy conditions can make it difficult to see the road ahead, be prepared for this by following these simple steps:
- Make sure you know where your fog light switch is before you set off.
- Keep a bigger distance between you and the car in front.
- Be prepared for a sudden bank of fog or drifting, patchy fog.
- Check your mirrors and slow down before entering fog.
- Use fog lights when visibility drops below 100 metres, which is roughly the length of a football pitch.
- Don’t use full beam as fog reflects the light back.
- Once the fog has lifted switch off your fog lights.
