Deeside Ramblers will be out and about over the winter and with a recent report suggesting eight in ten middle-aged Britain’s are overweight and inactive theres no better way to get some exercise and meet new people.

Analysis by Public Health England and Oxford University found 83 percent middle-aged Britain’s have poor lifestyle habits with 63 per cent of women and 77 percent of men overweight, nearly a third of each sex are classified as obese.

Almost a third of women and a quarter of men are inactive which is defined as doing less than 30 minutes of exercise a week. It is recommended that adults should do at least 150 minutes a week of exercise.

Join the Ramblers and take part in one of the many walks planned each month. There is a good choice of walks with varying distances to suit all abilities.
