Connah’s Quay Nomads launch new ‘hybrid’ first team model

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Connah’s Quay Nomads have announced a new Hybrid First Team model ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

The new structure will see the club’s part time players working alongside a selection of full time players, with a focus on developing young talent at the highest level of the Welsh football pyramid.

Full time players will benefit from five days of training each week, along with regular First Team match experience. The club’s fixtures are regularly broadcast on S4C’s Sgorio programme, offering significant exposure for players.

The Nomads have featured in European competition in eight of the last ten seasons, with the club highlighting the opportunity to compete against high-level opposition on the European stage as a key part of the new model.

The club is now inviting applications from players interested in being part of the new set-up.

Connah’s Quay Nomads said: “Our highly qualified coaching team will look to improve you as a player through your physicality, speed, stamina and technical ability in order for you to challenge for a First Team starting position.”

The club is seeking players who are ambitious, aged 19 to 23, with senior football experience and ideally more than 50 senior appearances. Accommodation options may be available for outstanding applicants.

Prospective candidates are asked to email a footballing CV, detailing their playing background, achievements, and ambitions.

Selected players will be invited to trial and meet the club’s management team later this month.

Applications should be submitted to [email protected].
