Connah’s Quay Nomads have delivered festive cheer to local schools by giving every pupil at four primary schools a free season ticket, allowing them to attend future home games of the Men’s and Women’s teams with a parent or guardian for just £1.

On Thursday morning, the club’s Director of Football, Jay Catton, and Head of Community, Jordan Parry, visited Ysgol Wepre CP, Ysgol Cae’r Nant, Ysgol Bryn Deva, and Golftyn Primary School to share the exciting news.

The initiative, aimed at encouraging young people to enjoy football and get involved with the club, was met with enthusiasm.

“The atmosphere was fantastic. The kids were so engaged, asking great questions about the Men’s and Women’s upcoming fixtures,” said Mr Catton.

In addition to the season tickets, the Nomads are hosting a free two-day Community Christmas Camp on 23 and 24 December, offering fun football activities for local children ahead of the holidays.

Mr Catton expressed his gratitude to the schools and staff involved, saying: “It was a really engaging and enjoyable experience to share with the students. We hope these small gifts from the club help make Christmas extra special for local children.

“With these 2,000 free season tickets distributed, we look forward to seeing lots of youngsters and families at our future matches. A huge thanks to the schools and headteachers for their support. We hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas!”

The Nomads’ initiative reinforces their commitment to building stronger ties with the local community, with plans for further outreach in 2025.

For parents looking to register their children for the Christmas camp, spaces remain available via the club’s website.
