Another glorious day in Deeside today, the steady high pressure is treating us to fine sunny weather with a gentle breeze, perfect!

Thursday saw Hawarden top the UK temperatures chart for a period hitting 28ºC.

Thursday at 4pm

Friday is shaping up to be even warmer, by 11am temperatures were nearly 2ºC warmer than the same time yesterday.

Overnight will be much the same as Thursday, dry, warm and very muggy quite uncomfortable for some.

Things will change on Saturday, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain.

Forecasters say there will be clusters of heavy and thundery showers over the UK with Wales and NW England expected to see some significant downpours in the afternoon and evening.

There is the potential to for localised flooding, hail and frequent lightning they say. 🙁

Chief Forecaster’s assessment

Skies will brighten following a band of showery rain, though rising temperatures will cause heavy showers to develop. Whilst many will miss the worst, some places could see 20-30 mm in an hour or less.

The risk of this looks slightly higher across Scotland than across England or Northern Ireland.
