Broughton Shopping Park has joined forces with Dee Radio to launch the Christmas Toys and Tins Appeal.
The campaign extends a warm invitation to the community to donate new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items in support of local children and vulnerable community members during the festive season.
As the festive period approaches, Broughton Shopping Park is reaching out to ensure that as many local children as possible experience the joy of unwrapping a gift on Christmas morning.
The appeal not only focuses on bringing smiles to children’s faces, locals can also donate non-perishable or tinned food items, which will be distributed to older, more vulnerable members of the community in a bid to make sure everyone has enough to eat over the Christmas period.
For those looking to contribute, a collection box has been conveniently placed in the foyer outside Costa Coffee at Broughton. This central location offers an easy drop-off point for donors, encouraging more people to participate in this generous initiative.
Alan Pruden-Barker, the centre manager at Broughton, expressed the centre’s commitment to the local community. “The festive period, while joyous, can also be a time of financial strain,” he noted. “We’re proud to partner with Dee Radio in this meaningful appeal to offer assistance to those in our community who need it most over the coming months.”
Chris Hurst, CEO of Dee Radio Group, highlighted the appeal’s significance, especially given the current economic challenges. “The annual Toy and Tin appeal is a testament to the generosity of our listeners,” Hurst said. “This year, the appeal takes on added importance due to the cost of living crisis and high interest rates. We are delighted to work alongside Broughton Shopping Park, a long-standing partner in community-focused initiatives.”
