Police in South Flintshire have issued a warning to retailers in the Broughton area after several counterfeit banknotes were used in shops over the past week.

Fake Bank of England £10 and £20 notes, as well as counterfeit foreign currency, have been offered as payment to store staff.

Police advise staff who suspect counterfeit notes are being used to report the incident by calling 101 or via the online link https://orlo.uk/1WkJy.

The police message states: “If store staff suspect a person is trying to pay for goods with counterfeit notes, please report it to us.”
