Aldi set to open new Deeside store on August 14

Aldi is set to open a new store on Airfields, Welsh Road, Deeside, on Thursday 14 August at 8am.
To celebrate the opening, Olympic bronze medallist diver Lois Toulson will join the team to cut the ribbon and give away free bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in line.
Aldi has been a prominent sponsor of Team GB since 2015. Their support focuses on providing fresh, healthy food to help fuel athletes during training and competitions.
The sponsorship deal includes monthly vouchers supplying nutritious groceries to Team GB athletes, aiming to contribute to their performance and well-being.
The new Sealand store will be managed by Spencer Kearney and will create 27 jobs for people from the local area.
Spencer said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Deeside. It’s set to be a special day, and having Olympic hero Lois Toulson join us will make it a morning to remember.”
Lois Toulson added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store. It will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”
The store is also inviting local charities and food banks to register with Neighbourly, a platform connecting businesses to community organisations, to collect surplus food daily. Charities interested in partnering should contact [email protected].
The new Aldi will offer a range of products including fresh Welsh meat, weekly special offers, and the popular Specially Selected range.
Customers can also find a Food to Go section near the front and a Specialbuys aisle with changing deals every Thursday and Sunday.
The new store’s opening hours will be Monday to Saturday, 8am to 10pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
