Aldi launches UK-wide search to find new face of its popular dog food range

Aldi has launched a competition to find the new faces of its well-known Earl’s dog food range.
This unique nationwide search offers pet owners the chance to turn their beloved dogs into celebrity ambassadors.
The competition, open from 9th to 16th August, invites dog owners to submit photographs of their pets on Aldi’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
Entries are sought from individual categories such as small, medium, big, rescue, working, and talented dogs.
An expert panel of judges will shortlist the candidates, and the winners will be determined through public voting across social media polls.
The six chosen dogs will be invited to a professional photoshoot and will also receive a year’s supply of Earl’s pet food.
These prize-winning pooches will then be featured across the packaging of Earl’s range, and special adverts will be created to spotlight them on daily walks.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, expressed her excitement for the initiative, stating, “More and more shoppers are recognising Aldi as a destination for quality pet food without the premium price tag.”
“Our shoppers are at the forefront of everything we do so when we decided to refresh the look of the Earl’s range, it made perfect sense to put our shoppers’ own dogs front and centre.”
The competition comes on the heels of Aldi’s revelation that an impressive one in four packs of own-label pet food in the UK comes from the discounter.
The Earl’s dog food has gained a solid reputation for being nutritious, free of artificial colours and flavours, and offered at an unbeatable price.
For those interested in participating, applicants must respond to Aldi’s social media post by sharing their favourite picture of their pet, along with their name and category (e.g., small dog, big dog, working dog).
The deadline for applications is 16th August 2023, with terms and conditions available on Aldi’s website.
