Airbus Ladies suffered a 6-1 home defeat to Prestatyn Ladies in difficult conditions at the Airfield.

Blustery wind and driving rain made it tough for both teams although the Wingmakers made the brighter start.

Early on a ball over the top was brought under control by Laura Borley and though her initial shot was saved by the goalkeeper, she was on hand to tap home the rebound from two yards out.

The lead did not last long however.

The visitors equalised when the Wingmakers failed to clear their lines defensively, then took the lead with a header into the far corner. By half-time a neat finish had made it 3-0.

Prestatyn are a side tipped to win the North Wales Women’s Football League and showed this in the second half.

Two chipped goals within quick succession and another accurate finish at the near-post completed the scoring.

The Wingmakers will be hoping to do better away at Bethel next week.

The Airbus Ladies next home game is on Sunday 6th October 2013, 1:00PM at the Airfield against Colwyn Bay Ladies. For more detailed match reports and information about the club visit – http://www.airbusladies.co.uk/
