Man arrested after a stabbing incident in Connah’s Quay

Police have arrested a 65-year-old man following what’s believed to have been a stabbing incident on Pen Y Llan Street in Connah’s Quay yesterday.

Police were called to Holly Court on Pen Y Llan at 12.51pm on Thursday following reports that a male had been injured during an altercation with another male.

An emergency ambulance and paramedic in a rapid response car were sent to the scene where they treated a 50-year-old man, its believed he had been stabbed, though police have not confirmed how he was injured.

The injured male was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 65-year-old man at the scene, he has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said;

“We were called at 12.47pm yesterday, Thursday 21 January, to an incident on Pen y Lan in Connah’s Quay.

We sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance to the scene, and a man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.

His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.”
