Deeside Round Table Santa Sleigh helps raise £7900 for local good causes

Deeside Round Table Santa Sleigh has covered more than 200 miles of Deeside roads this year, doing the rounds since late November the Round Table Sleigh and Santa have raised a whopping £7900 for local good causes.
An army of volunteer elves took to the streets of Deeside bringing Christmas cheer in the long-standing festive tradition.
Months of preparation went into planning this year’s Santa Sleigh, one of the organisers Richard Minshull said:
“We did 17 nights in all, had over 50 helpers, drove over 200 Miles around the streets of Deeside, and we helped raise £7900.00 that will go back into the local community of Deeside.
But above all – we made a lot kids believe in Father Christmas again and helped create so many memories that will last a lifetime”
Andrew Simmonds, Community Development Officer for Round Table said:
“This is an outstanding contribution from our members, who are at the core of every community across the country.
“Santa Sleigh collections are one of the most difficult but rewarding projects that our members and the clubs undertake each year. An enormous amount of effort goes into organising each and every one with many of members out for two to three hours each night straight after a day at work.
“They do it in all weathers to spread some Christmas cheer. You only have to see the smiles on the hundreds of children that see Santa to know how rewarding all the effort is.
“In addition, we also raise an incredible amount of money that will benefit various community groups, causes and charities from the New Year and beyond.”
Round Table, which was founded in 1927, is the leading social and voluntary organisation for men aged 18-45 in Great Britain and Ireland.
Last year, Round Table clubs raised over £2.1 million throughout the year for causes across the UK.
