Yellow warning for strong winds issued across Flintshire

A yellow weather warning has been issued for Flintshire as strong and gusty winds are forecast from Sunday evening into Monday morning.
The warning will be in effect from 8pm on Sunday 14 September until 6pm on Monday 15 September.
The Met Office said an area of low pressure will bring a prolonged spell of windy weather, with gusts of 50 to 60 mph expected around coasts and hills, and 70 to 80 mph possible in the most exposed areas.
The windiest conditions are expected on Monday morning before moving eastwards later in the day.
The warning states there is a likelihood of travel disruption and some risk of damage.
Coastal routes, sea fronts and communities could be affected by spray and large waves.
There is also a slight chance of building damage, such as tiles being blown from roofs, and some roads and bridges may need to close.
The Met Office warns that delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, and power cuts could occur, which may also impact mobile phone coverage. There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris.
Advice has been issued on how to prepare ahead of the windy conditions.
People are urged to secure loose outdoor items such as bins, garden furniture and trampolines, and to be cautious if travelling. Those living near the coast are advised to stay away from large waves and keep dogs on leads near cliffs.
The Met Office said: “Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly. When a weather warning is issued, we recommend staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
The yellow warning, which signals a very low likelihood but a medium impact, was issued at 10:35am on Thursday 11 September.
It covers areas of Wales including Flintshire, as well as parts of North West England, the South West and South East of England.
