Welsh of the West End heading to Wrexham for unique Christmas concert!
A popular musical theatre group which stole the hearts of the nation on ITV’s Britain Got Talent will bring their show to Wrexham this Christmas.
Following their epic sold-out tour last year ‘Welsh of the West End’ will hold a festive concert like no other on Tuesday 17 December at the William Aston Hall.
The talented super-group was formed during the first Covid lockdown period in March 2020 by Steffan Hughes, a well-known performer and TV and Radio presenter from the Vale of Clwyd.
In a time where most performers found themselves without any work due to the Covid regulations, he assembled a line-up of incredible Welsh talent to make a virtual performance of the song “Seasons of Love” from the musical Rent.
That video quickly gained 1 million views. What followed was over twenty virtual performances that have now surpassed 20 million views online. Welsh of the West End has become an online viral sensation.
They went on to wow audiences internationally by reaching the live semi-finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, and since then have performed at iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, Wales Millennium Centre, and the Principality Stadium in addition to overseas concerts.
Following their sold-out tour last year, the musical theatre group Welsh of the West End are preparing to spread the festive cheer this December with performances from iconic shows Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked – along with Christmas classics and other musical theatre favourites.
On their 2024 Christmas tour, they will also be visiting Pontio in Bangor, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, and the Cardiff Christmas Festival. Many of the singers are originally from North Wales, and are very excited to be performing so close to home this Christmas.
