Two men charged after Chester city centre assault

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Chester city centre have charged two men in relation to the incident.

On Saturday 13 September police were called to reports that a 40-year-old local man had been assaulted twice in the city.

The first incident took place at around 1.10pm near to the Best-One store on the A51, Boughton, Chester. A second incident was reported at 3.10pm outside the Corner House on City Road.

Following enquiries two local men were arrested in connection with the assaults.

Connor Jones, 26, of Roman Crescent, Chester, has been charged with one count of section 18 assault, grievous bodily harm with intent.

John Moore, 62, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of section 18 assault, wounding with intent, and one count of breaching a criminal behaviour order.

Both men have been denied bail and are due to appear at Chester Crown Court today, Monday 15 September.
