Three children hurt in separate road incidents in North Wales

North Wales Police are urging road users, parents and members of the public to remain vigilant after three children were injured in separate road traffic collisions last week.
The first incident happened on Maesdu Road in Llandudno last Friday afternoon when a four-year-old child ran into the road and was in collision with a vehicle.
Later the same day, a nine-year-old riding a bike down an embankment in Bangor entered the road and was struck by a vehicle.
Shortly afterwards, a five-year-old child was injured after running into the road in Criccieth and colliding with a vehicle.
Inspector Leigh Evans from the Roads Crime Unit said: “Thankfully, none of the children were seriously injured, however the outcome could have been very different.
“We are calling on everyone to ensure children are supervised and kept safe near our roads. We know it can be difficult to keep a watchful eye all the time; however, these recent incidents just show the importance of remaining vigilant.
“We also urge motorists to remain vigilant for child pedestrians – especially in built up areas. Children also need to pay attention and look and listen for traffic.
“Children are some of our most vulnerable road users and their safety is paramount – keeping children safe on our roads is a shared responsibility, and whilst children and young people are learning to navigate traffic safely, drivers must remain vigilant, slow down and anticipate the unpredictable movements of children.”
