Step Back in Time: Free Guided History Walks Through Mold

History lovers are being invited to lace up their walking shoes and join a series of free guided tours uncovering Mold’s rich heritage — running alongside the town’s popular Sunday Gathering Artisan Market.
Led by knowledgeable volunteer guides, the Mold Historic Guided Walks promise a mix of fascinating facts, local legends, and hidden history as visitors explore the streets and stories that have shaped the town.

10am — History of Wrexham Street & New Street

Discover the area’s 1920s working-class roots, listed buildings, Mold’s first board school and historic businesses such as a tannery and tripe shops.

Walk from The Cross to the former Morris Garage, including the house linked to Queen Victoria.
12pm — General History of Mold Town Centre (Fully Booked)

Starts on Earl Road, visiting the former Cottage Hospital before heading back down the High Street.

Tales from the town’s 70+ pubs, past and present — including a pub with a cockpit, unusual rent payments, WWII stories, and the non-conformist Preacher and the Bear.
