Sport Wales seeks input from clubs on environmental sustainability efforts

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

In light of the increasing risks posed by weather extremes such as winter flooding and summer heatwaves, Sport Wales has launched a survey aimed at assessing and promoting environmental sustainability among sports clubs in Wales. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The organisation is committed to reducing its own carbon footprint and encouraging the broader Welsh sport sector to make improvements on a larger scale. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Until the 19th of May, sports clubs in Wales are invited to complete a short survey to share their views and experiences on environmental sustainability. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Sport Wales aims to use this information to better understand the sector’s needs and offer support to clubs and organisations in their efforts to become more environmentally sustainable. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Clubs and organisations at various stages of implementing environmental initiatives are encouraged to participate in the survey. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The input of clubs already taking action is invaluable, while those just beginning to consider environmental measures can benefit from the resources and support that will be developed as a result of the survey. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The survey, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, covers topics such as current environmental initiatives, challenges faced by clubs, and areas in which support is needed. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

To incentivise participation, each club that completes the survey will be entered into a free prize draw for a chance to win a £100 voucher. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Sport Wales recognises the potential impact of climate change on sports participation and is taking a proactive approach to ensuring a sustainable environment for future generations. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The survey serves as an important step in gathering valuable insights from clubs across the country, enabling Sport Wales to effectively address the issue of environmental sustainability in Welsh sports. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
