Red Cross to showcase humanitarian work at Wrexham Eisteddfod

The British Red Cross will return to the National Eisteddfod of Wales, held in Wrexham from 2 to 9 August, showcasing its humanitarian work in Wales, the UK and internationally.
Visitors to the charity’s stand (619-620) can explore interactive exhibits, participate in activities, and speak with staff and volunteers about the organisation’s work supporting individuals and communities.
In 2025, the British Red Cross deployed emergency response teams to six fires in the Wrexham area and other incidents across North Wales. Volunteers also assisted during Storm Eowyn in January, which caused widespread power outages.
The charity’s health services provide practical and emotional support to people discharged from hospital across Wales, including help with shopping and prescription collection. Its refugee services offer trauma-informed, multilingual support to those seeking protection.
Visitors can experience live demonstrations with the JLR Defender emergency response vehicle, daily activities such as the Humanity Tree, children’s games, first aid demos, and learn about emergency support, health services, community education, and refugee programmes.
Katija Dew, British Red Cross Director for Wales, said: “We’re thrilled to be back at the Eisteddfod in 2025 — a celebration of Welsh culture, language, and community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with people from across Wales and share more about our humanitarian work, both here at home and around the world.”
She added, “Our stand at the Eisteddfod will bring this story to life, showcasing the impact of our services, our teams and the incredible people we support across the UK and internationally.”
