A Queensferry gym is aiming high with a fundraising challenge that will see members attempt the height of Mount Everest in box step-ups.

On Saturday 20 September, members of Number One HSP CIC will take on the Everest Step-Up Challenge, completing a combined 17,420 step-ups on a 20-inch box.

The challenge is designed to raise money to transform unused outdoor space at the gym into a free, accessible training and social area for the community.

The project aims to benefit young people, families, older residents and passing cyclists by providing a safe and inclusive place to exercise, connect and socialise.

Every penny raised will go towards the project, covering costs such as groundworks, surfacing, lighting, storage and robust outdoor equipment.

The event will also feature refreshments from local businesses including Coffee King and Jay’s Pizza.

Local people and businesses are invited to support the fundraiser through donations, sponsorship or by spreading the word. Businesses also have opportunities to sponsor aspects of the event.

More details and donation options are available on the Crowdfunder page: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/everest-step-up-challenge
