North Wales Police have issued a security warning after receiving reports of vehicle door handles being tried in the Mold area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers are advising drivers to take simple steps to protect their vehicles, including checking that all doors, windows and sunroofs are locked, and ensuring no valuables are left on display.

Police say keys should be kept out of sight when at home and away from front doors. Those with keyless entry cars are being urged to use a Faraday pouch, which blocks the key fob signal and prevents cloning by criminals.

Drivers are also being advised to park in well-lit areas, ideally within view of CCTV.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said residents should report any suspicious activity to the force by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency, or by using the webchat facility on the NWP website.
