A man has been arrested following a police response in Broughton on Tuesday afternoon (11 March), which saw armed officers deployed and roads closed near Broughton Hall Road.

Police were called to reports of a domestic incident involving a man who claimed to have a firearm. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had already left the property, and no weapon was seen during the incident.

As a precaution, police closed roads around the area and deployed firearms officers along with a police drone to assess the situation. Sergeant Paul Jones reassured the community, saying, “I understand the presence of armed officers might have been alarming to the community; however, their attendance to the incident was a precautionary measure.”

North Wales Police have now confirmed that a 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of domestic offences.

Officers will continue searches in the area today, though police have stated that only unarmed officers will be present.
