Around 200 runners took to the Airbus Broughton runway for a local children’s charity

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Around 200 runners took to the runway at Airbus Broughton this morning for a 5km Fun Run.

Airbus employees ran alongside friends, family and local residents in the event, which the company said was the first of its kind held on the runway.

The run raised money for SPACE, a local charity that provides accessible play areas and support to children with accessibility needs and their families.

All donations from the event will go to the charity.

Airbus said the run was planned to meet aviation regulations, with a risk assessment carried out for the event.

Airbus Broughton is one of the largest private sector employers in Wales and manufactures wings for the company’s commercial aircraft.
